My Mom’s recipe

Ingredients

  • ¾ c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ c. molasses
  • 2 c. flour
  • ¼ t. salt
  • 2 t. soda
  • 1 t. cinnamon
  • ½ t. cloves (ground)
  • ½ t. ground ginger

Steps

Mix all ingredients. Roll into balls. Roll in white sugar. Flatten balls with fork. Bake at 375℉ for 10 to 15 minutes.
